Admission (CTS)
The entry qualification for different trades and the training duration is as per DGE&T guideline. The admission notice for Craftsman Training Scheme & CoE is issued by Director of Technical Education & Training (Odisha) & published in major local News Papers.
All the seats are filled-up as per the merit list drawn based on the marks and guidelines prescribed by the Directorate from time to time.
All matters related to admission are finalized by the Admission Committee of which the Additional District Magistrate (ADM), Rourkela is the Chairman and Principal is the Member-Convener-cum-Secretary.
75% seats are reserved for District quota and 25% seats are reserved for Other Districts. But, simultaneously the reservation of S.C., S.T., P.H., G.C., Women and X.S. category is maintained as per Reservation Rule of Government. The academic session generally starts from 1st of August after completion of all formalities. For other Schemes the admission is done by the Principal as per requirement & norms.
Academic Schedule for CTS
In the Craftsman Training Scheme, stress is given on practical instruction classes. According to the DGE&T norms the following instructional hours are strictly adhered to

Monthly progress card is maintained by all the trade Instructors to maintain the quality of trainees. Similarly, regular tests are conducted to evaluate the trainees & to get the feedback on effectiveness of training. Inspections are made to sort out the problems of a trade. Training is provided in three shifts as mentioned below.
First shift for senior batches | 6.00 AM to 1.30 PM |
Second shift for junior batches | 9.30 AM to 5.00 PM |
Third Shift for Junior batches | 2.00 PM to 9.00 PM |
Examination and Certification
All the examinations under Craftsman Training Scheme (CTS), Dual System of Training (DST) and Apprenticeship Training Scheme (ATS) are directly conducted by NCVT and are monitored through State Council of Technical Education & Vocational Training, Odisha, Bhubaneswar.
The certificates to the passed out students are issued from NCVT processed through S.C.T.E. &.V.T.
To avoid delay, e-NTC is provided by NCVT.
